AS A DMK 'S Fan i Must Say About My Party And M.K.Azhagiri (Born To Win)

                                                      "BIOGRAPHY OF ANJANENJAN"

Muthuvel Karunanidhi Alagiri, (Tamil: மு.க. அழகிரி) generally known as M. K. Alagiri, is an Indian politician and a Cabinet Minister. The elder son of the head of the Dravida Munnetra Kazagham, Karunanidhi's second wife Mrs.Dayalu Ammal.

Although he harboured hopes of eventual accession to the post of President, Karunanidhi always appeared to prefer his younger son, M.K. Stalin, a former mayor of Chennai and currently a minister in the state cabinet. In fact, in 2000, orders went out that partymembers should 'distance' themselves from Azhagiri[1].

Following clashes between the supporters of M. K. Stalin and M. K. Alagiri, he was sent to manage the party in the southern districts of Tamil Nadu from Madurai, while M. K. Stalin was retained in Chennai to manage the party in the northern districts.

The succession crisis came out into the open when party members loyal to Alagiri attacked the Madurai office of Dinakaran and set it to fire, in which three staffs were burnt. The Dinakaran is a part of the Sun TV group owned by Kalanidhi Maran[2].

AZHAGIRI’S POLITICAL AMBITIONS have always been a subject of debate. Many believe he has always harboured hopes of succeeding his father as the DMK chief. But Stalin hogged the limelight as the secretary of the party’s youth wing for nearly three decades. Stalin steadily rose in the party ranks, becoming an MLA first and then getting elected as the Chennai mayor. He was made a minister in 2006 and is now tipped to take over the reins of the party. On the other hand, it has been a rough ride for Azhagiri, who has not held any party post till very recently. Over the years, he established himself as the backroom boy with control over the southern districts, and made Madurai his stronghold.

M.K.Azhagiri's rise has been systematic and his position of Strength today is because of he being Instrumental in winning Three consecutive By elections for DMK from the South, the last being the infamous Thirumangalam. He won the Madurai constituency by 1, 40, 985 Votes  and was largely responsible for the alliance sweeping the south in the recent Lok Sabha Elections. Except Tenkasi, they won all seats from South.

M.K.Alagiri has recently launched his own website - www.mkalagiri.com  and http://mkalagiri.org/
One of the ridicule recently being floated in Delhi is that he cannot converse in English and Hindi,, which are the Languages of Delhi.  In fact Sonia would have been washing Utensils in a Italian Bakery if not for K.Kamaraj because of whom Indira came to power. And it is because Rajiv was son of Indira, she is enjoyed the fruits of Dynasty. K.Kamaraj did not even know A or B or C or D of English but was still a King Maker.

M.K. Alagiri has no administrative experience nor did he occupy any imminent political position and so was Rajiv before he became the Prime Minister of India.

One day before the results were announced Madurai was splashed with posters telling the world that from tomorrow Madurai will be remained as Alagiriar District. Such is the belief the DMK cadres have in him. some party functionaries remember seeing him riding an old Lambretta scooter when he landed in Madurai. He was those days leading a spartan life in a rented house. Now, he is brimming with several business interests, besides properties in various places like Kodaikanal. It is said ‘nothing moves without his consent’ in Azhagiri’s turf.

Azhagiri has three children: Kayalvizhi, married to Venkatesan, Anjugaselvi and Durai Dayanidhi. All of them live in Chennai. Both Kayalvizhi and Durai have political aspirations. Kayalvizhi’s initiation into politics was at a recent conference of the party’s women’s wing in Cuddalore recently, when she made a speech with papa watching her performance from the crowds.

Durai, a regular at top city pubs, can be spotted at hot spots. He was a student of Anna University.

Union chemical and fertilizer minister M. K. Azhagiri interacts with the people in chennai....

Mr M.K.Alagiri continues the rich tradition of the karunanidhi family. Alagiri almost runs his autocratic rule in Madurai, having his way in almost anything he does, tolerates no opposition, and almost lives like a king with his own band of associate goons, using fear freely among people to get his work done, in a completely lawless-turned constituency of "his" Madurai.

On May 9, 2007 hours after, Dinakaran, the Tamil daily, newspaper published results of a survey on who would be the political successor of DMK president and Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, portraying MK Karunanidhi's first son, M K Stalin as a successor, angry supporters of M.K. Alagiri, elder son of Mr. Karunanidhi, burnt copies of the newspaper. Another group, allegedly led by another of his goon `Attack' Pandi, hurled petrol bombs and set fire to the building housing the offices of Dinakaran, Sun TV and Tamil Murasu. Three employees were killed in the incident, in cold blood.. It was quite obvious who was calling the shots. Six days after the incident, there was no report of commencement of any CBI enquiry and even the few DMK activists including the spouse of the Madurai's mayor who were arrested in relation to the violence have been let out on bail.

He plundered millions during the newly introduced helmet law, where he held the contract for distribution and sale of the helmets in Madurai.

He reportedly gave a paltry sum of 58 crores to "his" madurai people, on his 58th birthday(30, January.2009).

LET THE FAME CONTINUES..............
